One thing many young people especially the liberals don’t get it is
they tend to equate clever writing with effectiveness and right policies.
They read some toxic clever NYT columnist writing with beautiful words
and sarcastic delivery and they instantly arrive at the decision that these guys
are good. They let their insecurities and colonial hangups show themselves up.
But we should be honest enough to think for ourselves what
works for us. What is effective. What is good for our children. Do not
confuse entertainment or clever writing with effective public policies which
do not always get communicated easily.
And certainly not always in clever rhetorical language.
